About the Job: The individual develops and coordinates Grameen Foundation India’s Marketing, Communications and Social Media strategy to reinforce GFI’s position as a thought leader in the area of digital finance, social enterprise & livelihoods. The position reports to Associate Director – Knowledge Management and Program Communications.
Key Responsibilities include: –
Social media: Manage multiple social media platforms, majorly Facebook, Instagram, twitter, Linkedin, YouTube, Instagram and other online channels. Support the development of an integrated social media strategy including content creation, distribution & target ecosystem. Coordinates with internal teams to ensure effective use of social media. Ensure consistent presence and measure performance.
Support in implementing the social media strategy considering external and internal happenings in the financial inclusion/ livelihoods/ MSME space to ensure effective positioning of GFI in these thematic areas.
Website: Maintain and regularly update the GFI website based on WordPress. Implement ways to drive traffic, repeat visits and stickiness of visitors to the website. Coordinate content curation with program teams and keep it up to date to reinforce GFI’s positioning as leader in relevant domains. Plan and effect regular updates to the website to ensure visitor interest and engagement.
Events: Maintain an annual plan of outreach initiatives and events that align with the marketing objectives for GFI. Help with event designing, planning, curation and execution.
Desk Research: Conduct desk research for quality proposal writing and do prospecting to identify new business opportunities. Any other duties as assigned by the Associate Director – Knowledge Management and Program Communications. The employee will maintain a strong collaborative relationship with the program and Institutional Relations team at GFI and GF USA’s external relations teams. This role is extremely hands-on and the employee is expected to quickly understanding the nature of demands, respond quickly and diligently with highest quality outputs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and core values:
- Strong communication and presentation skills and high degree of creativity.
Prior experience/knowledge of using WordPress & formulating high-quality novel written and visual content for each social media campaign. Experience in website and social media management, content development and knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/ social media
- Flair for writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/ publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts visually and verbally. Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts in simple, easy to understand language.
Education and Experience:
- A Masters’ degree or equivalent in Communications/ Journalism or Marketing.
- Prior experience of working for at least 3 to 6
- Problem solving attitude and ability to work across teams
