Sangeetha’s 20+ years of experience as a communications and journalism professional extends across South Asia with several sectors including food and nutrition, gender, agriculture, biodiversity, climate change, environment and livelihoods. Sangeetha has a unique blend of expertise spanning cross-learning strategy, research to policy and practice, knowledge translation, transfer and synthesis, social media innovation, multimedia outreach, media relations and capacity strengthening.

A PhD Candidate with the Wageningen School of Social Sciences (WASS), Wageningen University, The Netherlands, Sangeetha earned her Master’s in Journalism and Mass Communication in India, an Environment Journalism Fellowship from International Institute of Journalism, Germany, and a media fellowship from National Media Foundation, Delhi. As a journalist, she has contributed to Rural 21- Germany, Global Press Institute – US, New York Times India Ink, and several leading national newspapers in India.

Sangeetha’s last assignment was with M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), Chennai, as Communications Consultant. She led the six-year Leveraging Agriculture for Nutrition in South Asia (LANSA) research programme consortium on research uptake and communications. Sangeetha is Former Editor of Press Institute of India and Research Institute for Newspaper Development, and previously researched and documented for IFAD, Panos South Asia, ActionAid, UNICEF, and CCF Canada in India.
